Great shoe for the priceMay 07, 2011
By Tom I have run about 250 miles so far on my current pair of Gel-Pulse 2. Very little wear so far. The sole is sturdy and keeps its form for quite awhile. I highly prefer ASICS as its the only shoe brand I've run with that I'm not prone to injuries. This is my 5th pair of ASICS (also used the gel cumulus and gel nimbus in the past). I prefer the Gel-Pulse 2 over the others. It seems to last a lot longer and is a better fit for my foot and running style personally. I will be re-upping and getting another pair of these bad boys. You can't beat $50 for a pair of shoes that will last you 300-400 miles.
Cons: So far the only con is that the mesh has began to deteriorate a little. I have one very small hole near my toes in the right shoe. It's lost some of its firmness but I've been using them for 4.5 months now so they've held together pretty well.

ASICS GEL, can't go wrongFeb 27, 2011
By Spartan Child I've been wearing ASICS running shoes for years; ran the Rome Marathon in a pair and have been a fan ever since. Amazon.com is a great place to find a deal and they always ship quickly to FPO addresses, which is a huge plus. Thanks!

Asics gel - pulse 2 running shoeJan 15, 2011
By chris fonken My shoe size is 12 1/2, so I have a hard time trying to find the right size. Asics makes a 12 1/2 and I have several pairs of them that I rotate. I train hard at the gym and this is the perfect shoe for me. Very comfortable with lots of support.

still prefer the original GEL-PulseJun 07, 2010
By kovboi I'm a heavy runner (200 pounds) doing about 15 miles per week on asphalt. I underpronate and recently had surgery on both feet, so I needed a shoe with good cushioning. These are good (not great), no frills running shoes. The new revision appears to have a higher ankle cup and narrower toe box, plus improved cushioning in the forefoot. I've been running on these for a few weeks now and, while I like them, I still prefer the original GEL-Pulse for overall comfort.
