4carhartt bootsFeb 11, 2011

purchased these boots for my husband about a month ago. he says their very, very comfortable, even after he has been on his feet for 12 hours (on cement floors). he used to work out in the elements and always purchased rocky brand boots. but recently was offered a job in doors and needed more of a walking, hiking boot that has steel toes.( he is a person who would rather wear tennis shoes instead of boots) so he has been very satisfied with these boots.

2Steel toe jutting out into the bootNov 03, 2011
By Mark D. Morrison "MDMAtl"
The steel toe on the left boot was jutting out into the boot, so my left-most 2 toes rubbed and jammed into the steel, albeit covered with cloth. Not at all comfortable. Seemed to be a good boot outside of that.

Got a RMA and sent back but have not heard from the vendor.

5These boots hold up good and look great.Aug 19, 2011

After the April Tornado, my son needed a safety-toe boot for some of the work that he was doing. This was an excellent boot. It has held up great for outside work and cleans-up and looks great. He said these boots are very comfortable and are lighter than some previous boots that he had worn. Also, he was especially glad that they were waterproof.

4Love the boot!Apr 10, 2012

theyre really nice boots! theyre comfortable and very supportive and protective too! theyre a lil stiff and i need them for hiking so im not sure if they will loosen up or not but i will find out and let you know. also you cant quite tell by the pic but these boots go high on your ankle! if you have regular ankle socks you may wanna get taller ones. theyre tall boots.

3CarharttMen's Hiking BootMar 01, 2012

I bought this boot because I need something heavy duty and most of all, comfortable. The boot is good quality with a good heavy sole. I am a big fan of Carhartt products and am rarely dissatisfied with them. The shoe itself is stiff and somewhat less comfortable than I expected form it being made by/for Carhartt. The area of the boot around the ankle is quite narrow for me. I have always spent a great deal of time on my feet for work and I have large boned, muscular legs and ankles. These boots are just too stiff and too narrow in the ankle area for me. I tried lacing them all the way which is what I prefer, and I tried leaving the upper laces open to see if that would free up enough room for my ankles. The ankle uppers still rub my legs and ankles raw even with good work socks. I previously owned Soliman hiking boots and they were constructed with wider ankle uppers and made of much more pliable materials. These are nearly an identical visual match, but the stiff materials and narrow style left me with an unusable pair of boots. One other item to mention, these boots are half again as heavy in weight as the Soliman's are.
If you have narrow legs and are looking for a good stiff pair of hiking boots, then these are your answer. Because my job requires me to climb on and crawl under equipment and machinery, as well as stand and walk constantly, these boots just didn't fit the bill for me.
