 Not bad, but don't pay over $100 for theseNov 20, 2008

these are solid work boots. After about two days of 'break in' the padded ankle feels really good. As with most work boots, you'll probably want to buy a more supportive insole (I bought some Kiwi work insoles, very nice). The outsole is very chunky, i think its supposed to resemble the tire tread on Cat's earth moving equipment, but it seems to grip well enough- still no match for icy surfaces you'll encounter this winter, though. However, the boot did a good job keeping my feet warm at around 20 degrees one morning, with normal "athletic" cotton socks.
I can't say they're the best fasion statement, Doc Martens wear a little better in that department, but these are good boots and still look pretty sharp in black (nevermind the embossed bulldozer... its not that noticeable).

I bought these boots for my husband, who is a mechanic, after reading some of the reviews. He works is all kinds of weather, and with the cold weather now he really needs some warm boots. He called me the first day he wore them to work just to tell me his feet were warm and that the boots were so comfortable. They are exactly what I was looking for.

I have owned this boot for several years and got my husband a pair a couple of years ago. We have done everything from cleaning kennels, barnwork, shoveling snow, hiking, and general run-around and they hold up and perform amazingly. Boots are water resistant, not waterproof, so a good boot oil is helpful. The boot is worth an easy 5 stars, but I found this exact boot locally for $20 cheaper so you may want to check your local stores before ordering...

After owning 7-10 pairs, the only thing wrong with these boots are the sole wears out faster then the boot, if you actually wear them to work.
