Worn these for two plus yrs. now. Sole is almost still new looking.
Positives: The soles do not wear and are soft enough to protect your back, legs and feet when walking. Are waterproof and warm but not hot. Comfortable after broken in.
Negatives: Scuff easily, hard to maintain. Shoe laces break after a short period of time. Could feel heavy to a person not used to weighty boots.
July 2009-Still going strong. This is an exceptional boot Even though it looks like it has been through a war (or two)-comfort ++.

Very comfortable work boot. Most comfortable work boot I have had yet. Do not know about the durability yet, if they last a year it will be worth every penny.
12-20-2011 This boot is still holding pretty strong. I am starting to notice more foot fatigue at end of the work day. If you use a toe cover/guard - tuff toe always!

Great looking boot, excellent fit and construction. Light weight and great for hiking, work or casual. Boots are Danner top of the line boot and quality is outstanding. I always get compliments whenever I wear them. Suggest trying on a pair before you buy, especially if you are buying steel toes. I found the steel toes imbalanced the feel of the boot slightly and the heel to be slightly lower than what I like in a boot.
