Light, very well built, no regretsOct 23, 2011
By BootSnob You will not regret the purchase of this boot! Not just for hunters...I am a boot snob, mainly because I abuse my boots and expect them to withstand the punishment, many brands I have tried simply don't hold up. I was not happy with the price of these boots, but thought I'd give them a try. Three months later, I have no regrets! They are extremely light for their coverage and quality craftsmanship, extremely well engineered, and have a nice big scuff guard that goes all the way around the boot. The hardware is of good quality, the soles grip well, they take crampons and other accessories well. The height is perfect, and the boot upper flexes well without pinching my tendons. I get cold feet easily but my feet have stayed warm and dry while slogging around in the sloppy wet muskegs of SE Alaska and the interior. They provide excellent support & traction for carrying a heavy backpack in rocky terrain or stumbling along root laden wet trails. True to size, waterproof, minimal break-in time (if any). Manufacturer warns that these boots should not be dried by the fire for risk of shrinkage, and recommend slow drying. They also say, send them in and they can be re-soled (Montana based company). If all leather Danner, Vasque, or Meindl boots fit you, these will slide on like a glove. I can't rave enough about them. They are the culmination of the features I thought would make for a perfect boot. Kudos to Kenetrek for making a ladies version of the Insulated Mountain Extreme!
