Just about perfectNov 12, 2010
By Sconnie Guy Bought these for last year's winter here in WI and look forward to wearing them again. Although my normal shoe size seemed a bit too tight at first, once the thick felt liners got broken in they fit quite snugly. The snug fit (and light weight) makes them great for walking outdoors without having my feet slosh around in them and provides excellent support for activities like hunting and hiking in subzero temps, but makes getting them on and off a challenge. Because of the neoprene-insulated lining and rubber lower shell, I found these boots are not breathable whatsoever (nor are most other pac boots) and a significant amount of moisture builds up between the liner and the neoprene inside the shell. This hasn't caused a problem since there is so much insulation between the thinsulate, neoprene, and wool felt liners that you won't be worrying about cold feet even if they do get really damp over the course of several hours. The quality is okay - the rubber shell had a spot where it didn't seem too firmly sealed to the leather upper, but it hasn't caused a problem yet. The rest of the craftsmanship was fine and hasn't been an issue. The two part sole provides surprisingly good traction, and although the squishy foam part seems like it would wear out quickly it is holding up well enough.
Overall, this is a good, warm boot that I wouldn't hesitate to wear anywhere, as long as I could dry it out for a couple hours between wearings.
