5Second pair, I hope they preform like the first.Nov 05, 2010

I had a pair of LaCrosse boots that I got used and lasted 8 years. When they wore out, I bought several of the cheap pairs which lasted maybe 2 months at 20 bucks a pair. Ticked, I got back on Amazon to find another pair of LaCrosse boots. I bought a mens pair because I couldn't find a female pair that would work for what I wanted. They are a bit tall for my leg, but are very comfortable and wide (I have wider feet). I use my boots for mucking out stalls, and for walking about the property in the Pacific Northwest (we get an average of 100 inches at my house). Living on the coast, I also use them on the beach for clam digging. The occasional farm chores involve me using a shovel and fencing. I loved my last pair so I hope these will hold up the same. They have already outlasted the cheapy pairs and they still look brand new (with a little mud). I only rated them a 4 because I can't comment on their longevity.

Wow....its a year later and I am still pleased. The boots are much dirtier now, but holding up great. Five stars from me!

5Great boots for the tundraJul 22, 2011

When I moved to rural Alaska, my father, a professional trapper, recommended I buy these boots. I'm so glad I did! They are comfortable, easy to slip on and off, and they haven't leaked once. In fact, I often wear them barefoot! They are extremely warm, even though they aren't the insulated version, and I've passed on wearing bunny boots (military-grade air-insulated boots) in favor of these. My husband is planning on buying himself a pair this year as well because of the success I've had with mine. They've even survived two puppies!

I wear a size 10 in women's so I ordered an 8 in men's and they fit like magic. Very true to size - if you have a half size, go up, not down a size.

Having owned a few pairs of LaCrosse boots I was surprised at the "economic" build of these boots. I purchased a pair for a season of landscaping work and found that the tread had worn down to almost nothing after just one summer's use. These boots get a 3 star rating from me. They are lightweight, tall and pliant which makes them comfortable and useful but again, the tread wearing down so fast needs to be addressed.
