I am a police officer and have two pairs of these boots. I wear them year round, and they've never let rain, water, or snow penetrate. The boots are very light, and they allow you to walk/run faster than with normal patrol boots and still look the same. I've had other Danner boots in the past, and they performed the same way. The other reviewer may have received a defective product (I know some people rave about Rocky boots, but I had two Gore-Tex pairs that constantly leaked and will never buy another pair again).

They fit fine. I have an old pair of Gore-Tex lined hiking boots and I like them so I bought these. They may have Gore-Tex, but the left one leaks like a sieve. Too late to return them, but this is the first time I wore them in heavy rain. If I had known this, I would have returned them. So be aware of this, and if you buy them in spite of this, test them so you can return them if yours leak.
