I got these for my son (7 years old) who has problems with tying shoes...he has fine motor skills delays. These seemed PERFECT! He opened them up Xmas morning and just had to wear them. He had them on for a total of 3 hours RIDING IN THE CAR when one of the leather strips holding the velcro piece to the shoe completely came off. We were traveling and this was the only pair of shoes he had for a 2 day trip...needless to say, I was pi$$ed. So now these boots are at a local shoe cobbler being repaired. This seemingly good bargain will end up costing me over $50.

These shoes look great and probably are durable enough for the average child. Our child is rough on shoes, so it could just be partially that. The velcro strap kept separating from the leather portion. We glued and sewed it, to no avail. I would buy these again though, for the price.
