Warm, waterproof, comfortable bootsJun 04, 2011

I needed a new pair of boots this winter for when conditions didn't call for my Sorel Conquests. They still needed to be warm and waterproof, however - and they had to be available in 11.5EEE. After receiving some Amazon gift cards for Christmas I spent a couple nights doing research, and chose the Wolverine Sportbacks. My size was available, I liked the look, the 8" height was the minimum I was looking for in a winter boot, and I didn't need the weight of boots with a traditional sewn-on sole. Upon receiving them I wore them inside my apartment until I was certain they fit correctly, which only took 3 days. After that they became my daily wear boots when I wasn't at work. They're warm enough and waterproof enough that I even wear them in many situations that previously would have had me in my heavier and less-comfortable Sorels. Plus, I can wear them year round, when I need more protection, stability and support than my Wolverine iCS Sidewinder low-cut hikers can provide. This is just a great pair of boots!
